. If I get another rifle Id get a decent 270 and a high end scope for long range shooting. Savage makes a lower end 30-06 that is 65 lbs. Even hunters on a budget can invest in a high-quality performant rifle that will impress shooting buddies with rifles that cost 2 or 3x.
Even when packaged with a scope the asking price for the Axis II remains a fraction of what other brands charge for similar products. The reality is that Im more likely to get charged by a big bull than make any 300 yard plus shot where Im living.
